The MJA awards 2023 are now open to entry until midnight on Wednesday May 31, 2023. (23:59 on May 31, but we’ll give you an extra minute)

There are £750 cash prizes and a trophy to be won in 15 categories, plus a new award for the Student Journalist of the Year, which comes with a £500 prize.

This new award is part of the MJA’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young talent and is open to those studying in the UK. Entries can be submitted in any format, written or broadcast, so this could be a piece published in a student newspaper or an item on student radio.  For full details visit our award entry pages.  Apart from the cash prize, there’s a trophy and a priceless opportunity for students to showcase their talent.

Work submitted in all categories will need to have been first published/broadcast on or between 1 May 2022 and 30 April 2023.
