As you would expect, MJA members dominate the Press Awards shortlist for Health Journalist of the Year, and they are also shortlisted for Campaign of the Year and Data Journalist of the Year.
The finalists for Health Journalist of the Year are Eleanor Hayward of The Times, who shared the 2025 MJA award for News Story of Year with Poppy Koronka, Laura Donnelly of the Telegraph, Rebecca Thomas of the Independent and MJA chair and Sunday Times health editor, Shaun Lintern.
Shaun is also in the running to win Campaign of the Year for series on the vaccine crisis alongside Hannah Geissler of the Express for her right to die campaign. The winners will be announced on May 26. Click here to see the full shortlists.
Meanwhile, multi-award winner Hannah Barnes, has also been named as a finalist for the Unwin Award for her book, Time to Think. The judges praised Hannah for her “courageous, thorough and engaging writing, which has been at the centre of this conversation”. The winner will be announced on April 21.
