In a testament to her talent and versatility, freelance health journalist Adele Waters picked up the awards for Mental Health Story of the Year and Feature of the Year, General, at the 2025 Medical Journalists’ Association Awards for pieces published in the BMJ and Daily Mail.

Adele’s first win of the evening was for a powerful story for the BMJ on doctor suicide All I could see were tasks mounting, appointments being booked, and people constantly knocking on my door

And her second, on hysteroscopy without anaesthesia —  The ‘barbaric’ procedure that leaves women traumatised, in agony and no longer wanting to have sex, — was published in the Daily Mail.

With thanks to Genolier Patient Services, who supported the Feature of the Year, General Award, and principal MJA awards sponsors, AstraZeneca
