Justine Hancock, of the Daily Mail won Editor of the Year for the Good Health section in 2019. Eleanor Read from Edelman presented the trophy.

The MJA Awards provide an unparalleled opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the nation’s leading health and medical journalists — whether it’s through our Annual Awards, sponsored content on our website or other partnerships.

When it comes to reaching the people who communicate health and medical information, teaming up with the Medical Journalists’ Association ensures you will have every angle covered.

Our membership includes health and medical journalists spanning a wide range of media including the national dailies, broadcast, specialist journals, trade press, women’s magazines and other platforms.  And our awards are not only a celebration of excellence in journalism, they are also one of the few occasions when the cream of health and medical journalism get together when they are not under the pressure of deadlines.

This year our awards have attracted a record number of entries — we are still verifying numbers, but it’s over 300 — and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 23 at the Barber Surgeons’ Hall in the City of London. (And yes, we were a little miffed the PM picked the same date for that other vote, but it will guarantee for even livelier discussion than usual.)
