Ellen Welch

An NHS GP and writer based in Cumbria, her 7th book “Why Can’t I See My GP: the past, present and future of General Practice” was released in February 2024.With 20 years clinical experience, a GP for ten and a background in Emergency Medicine, she has also worked worldwide as a Cruise Ship Doctor, repatriation doctor and expedition medic. She holds a BA in medical journalism.Welch has written widely for both trade and National press and appeared on TV and Radio in her previous role as co-chair for the Doctors’ Association UK.
