Mary E Black is a public health doctor, digital entrepreneur and writer. She is available for podcasts, meeting and conference facilitation and keynote speaking.Mary is an honorary Professor at the University of St Andrews medical school, a Non-Executive Director of the National Centre for Earth Observation and the National Centre for Atmospheric Science and an elected board Member of Patient Classification Systems International.Her career has included clinical and public health work in Ireland and the UK, over ten years with WHO and UNICEF in Balkan countries, and international consulting in many countries. She has worked in both local and central government, most recently as an Interim Director of Public Health Scotland and Senior Advisor in Covid Vaccination.Her novel in progress, 'Keep Darkness from the Door', is inspired by a forgotten Irish medical scandal and won the 2021 Irish Novel Fair. Mary was awarded the 2021 Fish Publishing memoir prize for 'Blood and Roses.'
