Unless you have a staff position with a known publication, please supply evidence of your work – cuttings, hyperlinks, ISBN or Amazon reference for books. Also list any specialism, medical, scientific or otherwise relevant to your work as a journalist – for example, languages. If you join the MJA you should enter these in the boxes on the MJA website so that employers looking for special expertise are able to locate suitable members.

Terms and conditions
If you become a member, the contact information on this form will be put onto the MJA database, held on the MJA website: www.mjauk.org. Members can log onto the site and indicate which contact details (phone numbers, personal email) they wish other members to view. The MJA communicates with the membership via posts on the website and via bulk email, distributing important news, work opportunities and occasional press information, but it never reveals members’ personal details to outside organisations. In submitting this form you agree to your personal information being held for these purposes. If you do not wish to receive updates, you can unsubscribe via the link at the end of any newsletter.

NB. It is a condition of full membership of the MJA that you accept that, should the association be dissolved, you will be liable for the sum of £5. (This is a remote but legal requirement.) The annual subscription is payable by standing order (not direct debit) on February 1, each year*. As a bona fides of your intention to complete your application please send (or arrange to pay by direct transfer) the first year's subscription appropriate for your membership application. It will be returned to you in the rare circumstances that your application is not accepted.
