Do you need a media expert with specialist knowledge of health and medicine? The Public Directory of the Medical Journalists’ Association provides details of members who are available for consultancy and freelance commissions.

You can search the Directory for members by name, or by the services you need — such as report writing, media training and crisis communications. Fees will depend on experience.

As a membership organisation, the MJA cannot make any specific recommendations so we suggest that you check members’ profiles and websites for details of relevant experience and client feedback.

Jane is an experienced health journalist, author and media consultant who has worked for clients as diverse as The Sun and the World Health Organization. As a journalist, she edited the health pages of the Sun for five years, was Woman's Own health editor for two and chief sub-editor of the Telegraph Magazine for three. Her work has appeared in a wide range of national newspapers, magazines and online platforms including The Times, Telegraph, Daily Mail, Mirror, Express, Sunday Express, Women's Health, NetDoctor and Livi. Jane now combines journalism with a wide range of bespoke media services and consultancy.
