Breast screening: help or harm? That’s the question being posed at a Guild of Health Writers’ event which MJA members are invited to attend.

Here’s your chance to put your questions to top experts and generate winning stories, so put the date in your diary.

SPEAKERS:

Dr Caitlin Barrand (nee Palframan) is Assistant Director of Policy & Campaigns at Breast Cancer Now where she leads a team responsible for policy and evidence, influencing, campaigning and health service improvement.

Professor Stephen Duffy is Professor of Cancer Screening, Queen Mary’s Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine. He is also Director of the DOH-funded Policy Research Unit (PRU) in Cancer Awareness, Screening and Early Diagnosis, which conducts research to inform policy to promote earlier cancer diagnosis, symptomatically or by screening to reduce cancer mortality.

Dr Robin Wilson is consultant breast radiologist at London’s Royal Marsden  Hospital  He has been involved in breast cancer diagnosis for more than  25 years and has a special interest in breast screening, image guided  breast biopsy and breast MRI.
