Thea Hip PoAny new outlet for health and medical journalism is welcome, but the launch of The Hippocratic Post — the world’s first global blogging site specialising in medical issues — is cause for special celebration as one of the founding directors is our very own Thea Jourdan.

In between writing for the nationals, running a press agency and launching websites, Thea is also a very hard-working member of our Executive Committee.

Thea’s fellow founding directors are Carole Stone, CBE, who was producer of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Any Questions?’ for many years and now chairs the external advisory board of the YouGov Centre for Public Opinion and Policy Research. And Jane Johnson, whose roles have included Saturday Editor of The Sun, Executive Editor of the Sunday Mirror, Assistant Editor of The Scotsman and Woman’s Editor of the Daily Mirror. She is currently Executive Content Director at Bauer Media where she oversees the editorial direction of eight brands including Grazia and Empire magazine.

The aim of the new website is to reach out to medical professionals and students as well as savvy consumers in the UK and abroad to keep them abreast of latest developments in their field

The Hippocratic Post features blogs from some of the world’s most eminent medical professionals including professors from Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, KCL and UCLA and visitors are encouraged to
post comments, submit blogs for consideration and take part in online polls
