Dear MJA member,
We should be winding down at this time of the year, but I suspect a lot of medical journalists are still working as hard as ever.
Nevertheless, you should take a pause and give yourself a pat on the back for getting through what was yet another busy and bizarre year dominated by the pandemic.
I bet 2022 will be just as hectic, but at the MJA we have already planned a series of events to sharpen your skills and keep you one step ahead of the competition.
In January, we will be demystifying finance and tax for freelancers in an online training course. In February, we will be seeing which journalists are the real all-rounders in our MJA New Year quiz. In March, we will have the first of our “In conversation with…” events with BBC medical editor Fergus Walsh – if you ever wondered how he manages to get so many exclusives and award nominations, this is your chance to find out.
However, before all of that, I want to wish you a COVID-free Christmas and a happy new year.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the MJA.
Best wishes,
Nigel
Chair, MJA
