We know journalists love a deadline — so a reminder that the deadline to enter the 2024 MJA Awards is 00:01 on June 1.

The MJA Awards are recognised as the Oscars of health and medical journalism and this year there are 17 awards to be won, including our new award for health and climate change.

Our 16 primary awards come with £750 in prize money and priceless recognition, and our award for best student journalist provides an important stepping stone for new-career journalists and a prize of £250.

Winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on September 11, and this year this will take place at the events space at News UK which boasts panoramic views of the City of London, St Paul’s and the Thames.
