Christmas is hurtling towards us, and we are planning to return to the Morpeth Arms for casual Christmas drinks — probably on December 5.
We pencilled in this date some time ago, but have since been alerted to a couple of clashes which will make it difficult for some members to attend. We’re now looking into alternative dates, we’ll post more details as soon as everything is pinned down.
But whatever the date, we envisage a similar event to last year, with a charge of around £20 to £25 to cover the cost of the room, food and a glass of prosecco on arrival — with a pay bar (in the room) for further drinks.
If you aren’t familiar with the Morpeth Arms, it’s a Young’s pub, a short walk from Pimlico or Victoria tubes, and the aptly named Spying Room has stunning views of the Thames and MI5.
