Want to take a massive first step in your career as a health journalist?
You can win an all-expenses-paid bursary to cover the NHS Confederation’s annual conference in Liverpool taking place June 14-15, 2017. Your report, or reports, on the Conference will also be published on the MJA website, which provides a great opportunity to add to your portfolio of work, raise your profile and show potential employers what you can do.
The competition is organised by the NHS Confederation and the Medical Journalists’ Association.
Enter any single published item you have written in the past year (April 1, 2016 to April 1, 2017) on a health or medical subject. Publications include student newspapers, magazines, blogs and websites as well as all other outlets.
You have to be a student (undergraduate or postgraduate) on a journalism course in the UK to enter.
You also need to be a student member of the MJA but you can join for only £10. Any student journalist with an interest in health or medicine can join. If you wish to join the MJA in order to enter please complete the membership application form first before entering the competition – you will not need to wait for approval of your membership, but we must have received your application for your entry to be considered.
