Jungle Cat Solutions Ltd for their work for Cellprothera on a pioneering technique to regenerate damaged heart tissue using stem cells harvested from the patient’s blood.
M&F Health for their work for The British Association of Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) on Mycoplasma Genitalium (Mgen), a little known but common sexually transmitted infection.
University of Bath for their work on the invention of a non-invasive sensor to monitor glucose levels through the skin without a finger-prick blood test, which was developed by one of their research teams.
The MJA Media Campaign of the Year award is supported by the Healthcare Communications Association (HCA) and is judged by a panel of leading journalists from both general and specialist publications and platforms.
It is the only award of this type which is judged entirely by journalists and it recognises excellence in developing a media campaign and materials that demonstrate a real understanding of journalists’ needs. The judges look for evidence the communications team has understood what journalists want from media materials and campaigns, that they have identified messages which have genuine news value and interest, and communicated them in a clear and engaging manner.
The winner will be announced at the MJA Award’s Ceremony, at the Barber-Surgeons’ Hall in the City of London, on June 12. The awards will be hosted by former BBC news anchor, Maxine Mawhinney.
