We’re delighted to announce that Elisabeth Mahase and Emma Wilkinson have now joined the Executive Committee, and Nigel Praities, executive editor of the Pharmaceutical Journal, has agreed to become a Vice Chair of the Association.
Elisabeth and Emma were co-opted, and Nigel was appointed Vice Chair at the December 10 EC meeting, it was also agreed that Lawrence McGinty will continue as Chair, and Jane Symons as Vice Chair. All were unanimously agreed.
Rising star
Elisabeth is clinical news reporter at The BMJ and a rising star in health and medical journalism. She won the inaugural Podcast of the Year award at this year’s MJA Awards, and Best Newcomer at our 2019 Awards. Click here to read how she got her start in journalism.
Lecturer
Emma is a prolific freelancer and an associate lecturer in journalism at Sheffield Hallam University. She specialises in health, medicine and biosciences and has worked at The Lancet, Pulse, and BBC News online.
She now contributes to a range of medical magazines and journals including Pulse, the BMJ, The Pharmaceutical Journal, Chemist and Druggist and The Limbic. She has co-authored a book — Freelancing for Journalists — and co-hosts the Freelancing for Journalists podcast with colleague Lily Canter.
