Despite the short notice, the MJA Christmas party was a great success and it was a real treat to catch up with so many friends and colleagues. Brava and huge thanks to EC member Isla Whitcroft for finding a fabulous new venue and making it all happen.
Our new chair, Shaun Lintern spoke for everyone on the EC when he said that we’re keen to organise more social events, and there was agreement that the Morpeth Arms would make a great venue for future events.
The deposit system and pay bar we introduced for the Christmas party also proved we can make events self funding.
And on that note, we’re delighted to announce that two new sponsors have already confirmed their support for the 2024 MJA Awards — the Doctors’ Association UK (DAUK) and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI).
Plans are also underway for another MJA Symposium, which will be supported by the DAUK, so watch the website for updates. And in the New Year we will start publicising the MJA Public Directory of Members, so freelancers can showcase their skills and staffers can flag issues of special interest.
But for now, whether you’re winding down for a break, or working over Christmas, everyone on the EC sends their best wishes for a great Christmas and a successful new year.
