Following the success of last year’s event with health secretary Wes Streeting, the MJA is thrilled to announce that on 8 May, members will have an exclusive opportunity to hear from NHS England’s new chief executive, Sir Jim Mackey, at our Annual Lecture in partnership with the MHP Group.
Make sure you clear your diaries and join us at the Royal College of Surgeons on May 8 for this unique opportunity to hear from the NHS’s top leader during a period of unprecedented change.
It comes at a critical time as the government has announced the abolition of NHS England as part of the biggest reforms for a decade, Integrated Care Boards face cost cutting of 50 per cent, and budgets are under significant strain. Ministers are also about to launch a 10-year plan for the NHS.
Sir Jim will take to the stage with Shaun Lintern, MJA Chair and Health Editor of The Sunday Times, to discuss these seismic changes, the future direction of healthcare delivery in the UK, and the challenges of implementing the government’s vision before a Q&A session with Sir Jim where MJA members will be able to quiz the new head of the NHS.
Following the Q&A MJA members will be invited to enjoy networking with invited guests from the NHS, industry, think tanks and charities.
Make sure you arrive in time for a welcome drink and stake your claim on a seat in what is expected to be a packed event. Doors will open at 6pm for a prompt 6.30pm start.
Places are limited, so if you are a member, please log in and register to confirm your place. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
