At the last EC meeting, the MJA discussed a member’s request that we might consider signing an open letter from to NHS chiefs on “The importance of the word ‘woman’ in communication about women’s health,” from CAN-SG — the Clinical Advisory Network on Sex and Gender.
This multidisciplinary group of clinicians is concerned about changes to the NHS.UK website which it argues have removed accurate and respectful terminology about women’s health.
While the committee thought it was not appropriate for the MJA to sign on behalf of members, it agreed to share details of the letter for those who may wish to sign it individually.
