The MJA awards 2023 are now open to entry until midnight on Wednesday May 31, 2023. (23:59 on May 31, but we’ll give you an extra minute)
There are £750 cash prizes and a trophy to be won in 15 categories, plus a new award for the Student Journalist of the Year, which comes with a £500 prize.
This new award is part of the MJA’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young talent and is open to those studying in the UK. Entries can be submitted in any format, written or broadcast, so this could be a piece published in a student newspaper or an item on student radio. For full details visit our award entry pages. Apart from the cash prize, there’s a trophy and a priceless opportunity for students to showcase their talent.
Work submitted in all categories will need to have been first published/broadcast on or between 1 May 2022 and 30 April 2023.
Winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on Wednesday September 13, 2023 at the Barber-Surgeons’ Hall in the City of London. We would like to thank our awards sponsors Christine Webber, Edelman, Roche, and Yakult.
Entry will, as ever, be free to MJA members and individuals may join in order to enter for free.
Join the MJA and enter as many categories as you like for free (full membership costs £50 pa, student membership costs £12 pa). Entry fees for non-members are £60 per category entered, non member students may enter our new student journalist of the year award for £20.
