In the unlikely event that any MJA member might be tempted to write about a self-styled health expert by the name of Anna Victoria Rodgers, aka Miss Eco Glam, let me share a little Twitter exchange.
It started when I saw this:
Yes, you read that right, she trolled the mother of a child who died because he was too young to be vaccinated against a totally preventable disease. Nice, hey?
So I took a look at her timeline and found she’d written a book all about detox — though personally I think the Twitter crop of the cover is closer to the mark. And I couldn’t resist a tweet of my own:
And so began one of those exchanges that make you either love, or loathe Twitter. This isn’t the whole blow by blow, but you get the idea:
But Ms Rodgers has her own take on credibility and research. In her parallel universe the WHO are pharma shills profiteering from killing kids and Andrew Wakefield is on his way to beatification
Ms Rodgers has now gone mute — and l sincerely hope she stays that way. But if this odious piece of pond-slime does starts trolling grieving parents again, I’ll be back.
UPDATE: Delighted to announce that Miss Rodgers has now deleted her Twitter account
Great exchange Jane, wish I’d seen all of it. What a dreadful woman
The thing that cracked me up was when I clicked on the link to the book the ad that popped up from Quintiles inviting people to take part in asthma research — presumably knowing Quintiles for a pharma company. You really can’t make this stuff up. Man, I love Twitter.
AUGUST 18: Sad to say this creature returned to Twitter yesterday, with a blast — a post claiming that polio vaccines are being laced with sterilizing hormones as part of a WHO population control plot.
She has blocked me on Twitter, and I gather the MJA Twitter account has also been blocked, presumably because of this post.
I shall continue to play whack-a-mole with her dangerous nonsense and tweet into her feed — please feel free to join in and spread a little sanity
Jane, I love you.
Lol Joani, spare my blushes.
But you know me, impossible to let that sort of nonsense pass without challenge.
Miss pond slime has now issued a vague excuse for an apology to Riley’s parents on her FaceBook page, but is trying to paint herself as the victim and is lost in a sea of crazy conspiracy theories.
If you want a laugh, and to step into a parallel universe, here’s the url
