Guardian seeks global health reporter

We’re now looking for a Global Health Reporter to report and analyse breakthroughs and solutions in health and ensure patients and communities feature heavily in our coverage.

Key focuses include health inequalities, the rise in non-communicable diseases across the developing world, health policies, international health crises, and tropical and neglected diseases that affect people around the world, especially in poorer communities.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract or staff secondment.

About the Role

  • Break news and bring in stories in the field of global health
  • Build and maintain a wide network of relevant contacts nationally and internationally
  • Produce content for the Guardian, online and in print
  • Work with the Guardian’s global teams to identify and develop the best possible content

About You

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of global health and health inequalities
  • Strong track record with a national or international media outlet of breaking stories, reporting and feature writing
  • Demonstrable experience of effective presentation and execution of ideas
  • Ideally, you’ll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role and to cover under-reported stories.
